Westbrook Communications was formed in the summer of 1996 by its current partners, Andy
Maple and Ben Wallis, who both have honours degrees in electrical engineering and are members of the
Institute of Electrical Engineers. Both partners have worked for various Independent Local Television
and Radio stations, as well as being previously involved in student, Restricted Service Licence (RSL) and hospital radio
stations. They have obtained many years of experience in Local Area Networking from
the days of coax and Cat3 cabling through to today's technologies such as gigabit fibre and laser links.
The company originally concentrated on installing computer networks for schools, although
our client base quickly grew beyond the education sector. We now install networking solutions
for a large variety of companies.
In 2001 the company expanded to provide broadcast installation and maintenance services, and
clients have included regional and national radio and television stations.
In October 2002 Westbrook Communications teamed up with Fresh Air Studios, to form a new
company called Sound Telecom, which offers music on hold products and services for PABX
telephone systems. Sound Telecom was officially launched in March 2003.
We are currently expanding our embedded systems department, which provides custom solutions
for clients. We are also developing IMCS, an intelligent SMS based monitoring system.
Westbrook Communications prides itself on providing unique solutions for our clients. We
believe that good service is as important as low prices. We won't compromise on quality.
