Westbrook
Communications undertook work at
Sutton Valence School involving
adding the Art and Design Technology (DT) departments on to the schools network.
The main opposition that created a stumbling block is that the
two buildings for art and DT are not on the same grounds as
the school but instead based in the centre of the village. This
of course proposed the problem that cables could not be used
therefore the use of lasers was researched in to then given
the go ahead.
Westbrook Communications has recently returned to
Sutton Valance School to install several
wireless access points to create a wireless network in the Cornwallis building giving students network access in yet another building. The building it self presented problems from the begining with the whole structure being made of re-enforced concrete, floors and walls inculded. This meant a conventional wired network was just not feasable, so wireless was chosen as the final solution.
